What's it like working at Style Compare?

We like to think it's fun and rewarding, but we never lose sight of our mission. We hold ourselves accountable to each other and are strongly committed to delivering the best product we can.

No two days are really the same. We may be releasing a new feature on a Monday, in which case the dev team are flat out. Tuesday, our focus may be on a new PR campaign and Wednesday might see us hosting an event. No matter what your role, you'll be involved in supporting all of your colleagues and they'll be doing the same for you.

It's a dynamic and exciting place to work.

Work Life Balance

We're proud of our product and we couldn't have got where we are without a lot of hard work. But life isn't all about work. We put a commitment to work life balance at the heart of our culture.

Work from home: We support our staff to working from home whenever they want. Whether it's to get a break from commuting, to get some headspace or because they've got a parcel being delivered. We don't ask why you need to work from home. We just ask that you do it when you need to. Working from home is about trust and we only hire people we trust.

Create your own job title: It's become a bit of a thing in the tech world to adopt silly job titles that don't really mean anything. This tends to be confusing and counter-productive. Our approach is different. We don't settle on your job title until after you've joined our company. We use the recruitment process to figure out the best way to utilise your talents. Then we work together on your job spec. This helps align everyone's talents and interests.

No overtime: This is a serious one that's easy to promise, but hard to implement. We promote efficiency and effectiveness over general busyness. You don't get extra points for staying late or working extra. Time is precious, don't waste it. If you want to work beyond your agreed hours, we may be supportive of your choice in some circumstances. But if we spot you on Slack or get an email from you at some antisocial hour when you're supposed to be offline, you'll be going on the office ‘wall of shame'. You get three strikes and on the third strike you're going out to buy the morning coffees.

Socialising: We're not about to say ‘we work hard and we play hard' because that's an awful cliche. But we do value the chance to spend quality team time after work. We're always looking to do something a bit different though, so expect more than office beers on a Friday.
