show stopping party wear

I am soooo excited about the party dresses available this year. There are tons of gorgeous trends, styles and colours to choose from, as well as Christmas classics like the body-con making a welcome return.

I’ve already been stocking up on party pieces. I love a bit of lurex and I’ve been to a November fashion event wearing the fluted sleeve dress by Twist and Tango at ASOS, which looks great with a chunky lace belt. My glitter spot dress in black from Topshop went down a storm with the cast of The Only Way is Essex when I was lucky enough to attend a party hosted by Jessica Wright. In fact, I’m so keen on that dress I might invest in the oyster version too.

And talking of dresses fit for a TOWIE party, I chose bright red Biba for Lydia Bright’s shop launch – and have now got my eye on a maxi version. That is one serious party dress.

I’m just warming up with my party wardrobe and intend to invest in as many more goodies as I can afford in the run-up to Christmas. I’m definitely up for a bit more sparkle and there is so much bling around you’d be forgiven for surfing Style Compare in sunglasses. If you have some cash to splash, check out the Elle sequin maxi dress courtesy of Project D by Dannii and Tabitha. For glitz and glamour that’s a bit more affordable, Motel’s Gabby dress in gold is great for brunettes and redheads, while the silver version is perfect for blondes.

The Christmas maxi dress is going to be massive this Christmas and I’ve got my eyes on three beauties; the Lipsy one shoulder maxi – utter va va voom at a brilliant price; tibi’s block-busting bandeau style maxi; and French Connection’s halter maxi which ticks the metallic trend too.

If you’d rather flash some thigh, embrace a colour block effect with the Oh My Love red jersey pencil dress with peplum, Aqua Cobra’s violet kimono sleeve mini dress or the Gestuz crushed teal velvet dress.

And, if you’re all about the designer label, you’ll completely stop the show in Giambattista Valli’s poppy print dress, Lanvin’s striking silk-gazar dress or Oscar de la Renta’s feather and sequin embellished lace dress.
