Neon Nation

Get set for a 90s revival – neon is back! Whether it’s on hi-tops, dresses or accessories, look out for acid green, hot pink and fluro orange. Designers filled their spring collections with citrus-coloured blouses and acid-edged blazers, and many of the fashionistas visiting February’s London Fashion Week were sporting this retro trend too.

If you want to experiment with neon, pastels mixed with fluro brights makes a great combination and dilutes the look, so it isn’t too intense. Fashion thrill seekers can wear neon from top to bottom – but if head to toe colour is too extreme for your taste, limit the acid brights to jewellery and accessories. Carrying a fluro-pop satchel will make any outfit funky and the Cambridge Satchel is this summer’s official “it bag”, available in lots of eye-catching colours. Neon watches, belts and shoes provide another easy way to try out the trend.
