Key AW12 trends ThumbnailAlthough it’s only August, the fashion world is way ahead when it comes to seasonal wear.

We’ve all got our fingers and toes crossed for more great weather, but this is also the perfect time to get acquainted with top trends for AW12, making sure that every winter-wardrobe purchase we make is perfectly on trend.

Here are three key trends to watch for AW12…

The English Eclectic

Things turned traditional when fashion went English Eclectic on the AW12 catwalks. Inspired by country pursuits, classics like tweed, brilliantly buffed leather boots and corduroy are big for autumn/winter. In the summer we flirted with fun trends like pastel, floral prints and vivacious neon; the English Eclectic look is quite the opposite with earthy tones, utility fabrics and impeccable tailoring.

Budding Berry Tones

Beautiful berry tones are another hit for autumn/winter. From deep mulled wine to plush royal purple, these intense colours are set to warm us up when the weather gets colder. A chunky-knitted violet snood will add the perfect amount of colour to any outfit, and ditch classic black accessories and make a statement with fiery berry red instead.

Everything in Supersize

Perfectly fitted threads are out; it’s all about supersizing for the new season. To make a real statement team an oversized item with a contrasting super skinny separate – try an oversized jumper with skinny jeans, for example, or take it to the next level by wearing oversized statement trousers with a tight tank top.
