Burton started life in 1903 as the Cross-Tailoring Company in Chesterfield. Launched by tailor and philanthropist Montague Burton (who was eventually knighted), the brand's original philosophy was that "good clothes develop a man's self-respect". As well as revolutionising British men's tailoring, The House of Burton also played a major role in creating the United Nations Association. Now part of Philip Green's Arcadia Group, Burton still has a focus on quality service and good value, stylish clothes.
