Motel Rocks The Party Season
If you thought the summer collection was smokin’, just wait until you see what Motel Rocks has on offer for autumn/winter; I popped down to the brand’s HQ in central London yesterday to have a peek at the AW12 collection and drool over some of the key party looks.
Motel is a brand with a strong identity (and a big celebrity following) and the new collection is just as bold and confident as I expected.
Fierce graphic prints sit beautifully on tiny dresses, bold florals adorn tough skinny jeans and the new “white noise” foil print gives a fantastically crackled, chaotic effect on jackets and dresses. Cobalt blue is still in favour alongside colour-popping leopard prints, and short shift dresses with mesh sleeves and necklines look retro cool.
If you want to make an impression on the Christmas party circuit, the two-tone sequin effect on body con dresses is definitely worth checking out, and a slightly more subtle (but equally sexy) effect can be achieved with heavily sequined corsets and corset dresses, balanced with contrast skirts. And I’ve fallen in love with the velvet-chic, baroque-style dresses which have gorgeous gold-edged, cut-out designs on the sleeves.
We even had a sneak peek at the Rock & Rose jewellery collection; chunky gold, crosses and ring-and-hand-chains are all the rage for the cooler months.
